I’m a teacher and coach of young children, teacher, and families with more than 20 years experience in the field.
As a teacher, preschool director, and consultant I have worked with hundreds of families to find individualized strategies to support their children at home and at school.
As a preschool director and college instructor I have mentored and supported scores of teachers in developing their practice.
I have particular expertise in positive discipline, and have led dozens of popular parenting workshops on the topic.
My practice is queer-competent (inclusive of trans children and adults, as well as of diverse family structures), disability-inclusive, and body-positive.
I am a parent of two young children; my partner Amelia and I are parents to Alix (7 years old) and Noah (3 years old). They are amazing, wonderful kiddos who drive us absolutely up the wall.
I have worked with children of all ages, but have particular expertise in the education, development, and care of children ages 1 through 6 years.
I spent the last six years as a preschool director at the Children’s Community School, a NAEYC-Accredited and STAR-4 preschool in West Philly. For the four years before that I was assistant director and head teacher there.
I’ve taught a wide range of college courses on early childhood education at Community College of Philadelphia, Montgomery County Community College, and Diablo Valley College.
I’ve presented at a variety of prominent conferences in the field, including multiple “featured presenter” slots at the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s annual conference and professional development institute.
I hold a masters degree in early childhood education from San Francisco State University.
